Huh, I wonder too? I kind of suspect that she's falling out of favor - there are plenty of less racist pioneer narratives now. I get the sense she's hugely popular with the libertarian/prepper/conservative crowd, though. (I'm not even sure how you'd measure it. Book sales/library numbers? People actually engaging about the books?)
It's kind of awkward how well they age in some ways, actually -- they're really, really well-written! Laura is very good at describing things! But also, very racist.
