A Nice Fandom Story

okay, story is maybe a little generous, but...

As part of my birthday treat-yourself-palooza I went to banya today. My local banya is roughly Russian (although I only go in the Turkish steam room because I am afraid of the parilka), and I finally went up to the tea room today for a little break. They had a lovely urn of tea -- not a samovar, sadly, but close enough -- and both sugar and cherry jam.

Sometime, ages ago, I read a story where Nat offered Bucky jam for his tea, and thus I knew exactly what the jam was for, and happily added it to my tea.

It’s a really little thing, but it was nice to feel at home, and know what was going on, and enjoy something a little closer to what the owners are going for. Also, it was delicious.

I have a very distinct memory of reading that about Nat and Bucky too, and it is a nice story! This reminds me of other fics set in locations which are very distinctive, and it's always nice to travel there and see the same things as the characters did.
