ughhhhhh. Between New Year’s stuff (the house I stayed at hosted a party so it was good busy, but busy!), the many joys of flying back home and settling back in, and a rousing bout of severe anxiety, I did not get very much writing done this week.

Writing-wise:

A Winter Spirit, A Winter’s Tale : Finally got Chapter 7 done and up. Working my way into ch 8. Spoiler: they touch dicks.

Yeah, that’s it for words on, er, paper. BUT. One of the advantages of paying a truly embarrassing sum of money for inflight WiFi is that you can re-read your old fic and I got the itch to keep adding to Yet Needed Most, I Bring. Probably feat. Nurse Grant, because we make our own kinky porn in this world, my children. So I’m hoping to add that to the docket too. Turns out I have a chapter started that I wrote probably years ago, so at least I have something to work with.

(I haven’t forgotten the trope-o-rama, just wanted to get A Winter Spirit done a bit more. Working, it turns out, is killer on the whole free time thing.

Reading:

I finished Annie Muktuk and Other Stories, by Norma Dunning. Seattle Public Library had a big native-themed e-book recommendation thing going awhile ago, and I reserved this, and it was awesome. I am really trying to read more Native authors, but especially from around the Seattle area. (So mostly Duwamish, I think Sammamish. Kwakiutl are further north, but thanks to anthropology, I’m more familiar with them, at least on that level.) Annie Muktuk is further north -- Inuit. They are wonderful, beautiful stories. I loved them. They made me hopeful.
